Recurrent urinary tract infections (UTIs)

As per the information on struvite kidney stones, some of the common organisms which cause urinary tract infections (UTIs) are urease-positive and are therefore potentially susceptible to our urease-inhibiting Watercress Extract. These include ProteusPseudomona and Klebsiella. Other common organisms include E coli who do not split urea and so our potential therapeutic effect here is less clear.

It is estimated that 10-20% of women will experience a UTI at some point in their life. This is a huge population burden relying on massive numbers of antibiotics being prescribed each year. Hopefully our Watercress Extract will act as an independent antibiotic, reduce the virulence of the bacteria, or increase susceptibility to treatments such as antibiotics.
